Your article brought to mind an episode of the 3D Clone Wars animation where Count Doku sent in a general in to support a puppet ruler who was under siege by rebels trying to reclaim their planet.from separatist rule. The point is the general was a droid who was entrusted to take command of the fight against the rebel rebellion making all the tactical decisions. If you were a human general on Doku's staff would you not be pissed off? I realize its fiction but wouldn't a human being be better dealing with human beings? My interpretation is it was not a replacement for human generals but just an extension of Doku's war machine much the same as the Drum machine.is a different way of producing drum sounds but by no means replacing human drummers.or me when I grab ideas for my story from live action, animation.claymation or what ever medium I am experiencing. The true flexibility of humans is incorporating diverse elements into their en-devours and creating something wonderful Hope that makes sense.

Have you read "The Prague cemetery"? The protagonist is one of the least likeable characters I've ever read, but readers don't complain. The story is well written and the character well presented. All the fuss about 'making likeable characters' is one of those twittable pieces of advice writer's workshops love so much to sell.

He sounds absolutely like someone I'd love to have met. I've read some of his non-Lankhmar stuff, but not nearly enough.
